Course Length/Prerequisites
This two-day course has no prerequisites.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for new users of Windows and those who are
planning to use applications such as Excel, Word and PageMaker. This
course, Windows Introduction or Windows Orientation, is a prerequisite
for all introductory Windows application courses.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this hands-on workshop, students will be able to:
describe the hardware components of a microcomputer
understand the relationship between hardware and software, and the role
of DOS
understand file naming conventions and the concept of disk storage of
data
understand the relationship between DOS and Windows
launch and exit Windows and Windows applications
minimize, maximize and restore Windows applications, and switch between
them while they're running
create groups and icons; customize the Windows desktop to suit individual
tastes
use the File Manager to format disks, manipulate directories and files,
and search for files
