Word 2000 Proficient/User Specialist

Course Length/Prerequisites

This three-day course requires Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 Introduction or equivalent experience. Knowledge of basic concepts such as the use of folders and sub-folders for storing documents as well as moderate typing skills are requested.

Intended Audience

This course is intended for students who wish to prepare for the Microsoft Office User Specialist exam "Proficient User" for Word 2000.

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to teach proficient word processing skills (including creating, editing, formatting, saving and printing documents) using Word 2000. At the end of this course attendees will be prepared to challenge the Proficient User exam for Word 2000.

The course is to be completed in sequential order. A map of exam topics and the corresponding chapters and exercises is included in the Document Map at the end of this manual.

Prerequisites

Attendees should be familiar with the use of a personal computer, should understand basic Windows operating system concepts (such as the use of folders and sub-folders for storing documents) and be comfortable working in the Windows interface. It is recommended that users unfamiliar with Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0/5.0 take an introductory course before taking this course. Moderate typing skills are also required.
